Salt Lake Community College
Society of Women Engineers

SWE's Mission:

"Empower women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and demonstrate the value of diversity."

What does SLCC SWE do?

Leadership

Members have a long history of participating in leadership roles at local and society levels. Locally, students can be involved in organizing social, fundraising, outreach, and professional development events. Additionally, active members are eligible for SWE scholarships.

Professional Development

Leaders plan activities and events that prepare members for future careers. Activities include resume and networking workshops, business etiquette presentations, industry networking events, tech talks, career fairs, and society conferences.

Networking

SLCC SWE organizes social events for students including study lounges, opening and closing socials, holiday parties, and service projects. These activities help SWE members connect with other students, form study groups, and build a support network.

Personal Development

"I believe you have to maintain a balance to keep things in focus." -Germany Kent.

We'll have fun activities with opportunities to
stay balanced outside the classroom.

Undergraduate Research

Advance your education by learning how to apply what you are learning in class to solve real life problems. SWE will expand your understanding of research, and see how to advance your ideas.

Outreach

The Salt Lake Valley and other communities in Salt Lake County are benefited by outreach events organized by SLCC SWE. Events include National Engineers Week and Expanding Your Horizons workshops.
