Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) honors students showcased their exceptional research and innovative inquiry-based projects at the Western Regional Honors Conference (WRHC) held at the University of Montana in Missoula on March 31, 2023. Students shared their research and exchanged ideas with fellow attendees through engaging posters and captivating presentations, demonstrating the dedication and hard work they had invested in their honors course projects.
The topics and issues explored in their projects were diverse and relevant, reflecting the students' commitment to understanding and addressing real-world challenges. Time and time again, SLCC Honors students' research and presentations have stood out as some of the most significant, unique, and community-focused work at these conferences.

Additionally, Kathy Tran-Peters and Kati Lewis presented "The History of Honors Education: Addressing the Past & Embracing the Future." Many attendees had questions about SLCC's ePortfolio usage and the development of the SLCC Honors Program. SLCC honors students in attendance shared their personal insights and experiences, providing a unique perspective on the program and demonstrating their active involvement in the ongoing development of the honors program, working closely with faculty and staff.
Once more, SLCC honors students greatly contribute to SLCC's mission of promoting academic excellence and fostering an environment of critical thinking, inquiry, and collaboration. As we continue to reflect on the past and embrace the future of honors education at SLCC, we are excited to see the remarkable achievements and growth of our students, the program, and our community.
