In the next few weeks we will be having 4 guest speakers, including Gabriela Silva with the Hunstman Cancer institute, Anneka Ecker from the University of Utah's genetic counseling program, Dr Behrad Noudoost with the Biology and Neuroscience department at the University of Utah, AND at the end of this month first year medical students from UUSOM are coming to set up a mentor program specifically designed to help SLCC students manage thier application and transition to medical school! Festival of Trees Meeting TODAY

After you grab some food at Pizza and Posters, join us in the ACS room (SI 290) at 1:30 to organize our efforts for our festival of trees donation! This is a great opportunity to raise money for primary childrens hospital as well as get volunteer hours for professional applications. We have an AMAZING tree planned this year, with a U of U tailgating theme. We have alreay had donations from major brands, but we still need your help! Come help us get other donations and plan our Fall Fest to raise funds for the decorations.

Later this month we will be honored to have several current first and second year medical students from the University of Utah School of Medicine (UUSOM) come and start a mentorship program with SLCC students. Thier goal is to help us manage the complexities of applying to medical school and provide guidance and support through the process. They will be doing a presentation with us on Friday, October 27th and setting up individual mentors for all who are interested. Please let us know if you want to participate in the program and spread the word!

Come learn about all the undergraduate research at SLCC! Get some food and join a research project while you are at it. There are many projects to choose from and they look amazing on applications to your prefered program!
