Following a formal review process, the SLCCSA President has been removed from office. Per the SLCCSA Bylaws, the Vice President of Academic Pathways (VPAP), Roena Delfin, will assume the role of the SLCCSA President; Roena was elected by SLCC students as VPAP in Spring 2025 and stepped into her role as SLCCSA President on July 1, 2025. For her vacated role as the VPAP, applications are now open!
If you have already signed a waiver to be a Thayne Center peer leader, this opportunity is still open to you. Here are few higlights for the position that you may want to consider (more information can be found in the SLCCSA VPAP Appointment Handbook. 25 - 26.docx which is also attached to this email):
- Serves in the Executive Branch of SLCCSA
- With oversight of Student Senators representing SLCC’s academic pathways, the VPAP elevates the student voice by gathering input and implementing initiatives that improve academic experiences at SLCC
- Requirements:
- Summer training
- Monday and Wednesday from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm from July 21, 2025-August 20, 2025
- Peer Leader training: August 13, 2025 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Summer training
- Compensation:
- Part-time pay in summer
- 10 hrs/week
- $15/hr
- Part-time pay, tuition waiver, basic student fees, and parking pass covered in Fall 2025 & Spring 2026
- Part-time pay in summer
