Why Join PTK?

Academic Recognition

- Upon graduating with a 3.5 GPA, PTK students are awarded with a Phi Theta Kappa Honors Designation on their transcript which provides a competitive advantage for when applying for admissions or scholarships at four-year colleges and universities

These scholarships can aid you in transferring to a four-year university or entering the workforce

Membership Requirements

To be eligible for Phi Theta Kappa, you must:

- Be enrolled as a student at Salt Lake Community College

- Have completed at least 12 credit hours of coursework

- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 or higher

How to Join

Membership is extended through invitation from the Phi Theta Kappa chapter at Salt Lake Community College. Invitations are sent during Fall and Spring semesters to students with 12 or more credit hours of college work at Salt Lake Community College and a 3.5 (or higher cumulative GPA for courses taken at Salt Lake Community College. The $95 one-time fee is for a lifetime membership. If you would like to extend your PTK deadline or if you did not receive an invitation, and believe that you are eligible, please reach out to the PTK advisor at Kathy.Tran-Peters@slcc.edu.
