Create and maintain community spaces that address the food security and basic needs of SLCC students, faculty and staff. We aim to provide safe and nutritious food as well as increase awareness and access to community resources.

Free Food and Hygiene Products for Students, Faculty and Staff
We are a network of pantries across 4 SLCC campuses that provide students, faculty and staff with free food, hygiene products, and other items. We also aim to connect community members to resources to help meet their basic needs. Most of our locations are primarily staffed by students, and we have a number of compensated positions that open up over the course of the semester.

The mission of Civically Engaged Scholars is to develop, implement, and foster civic and community engagement; nourishing mutual transformative relationships between community organizations and members with SLCC, both as a community and as an institution, will bring equity and justice into the lives of many.

Upon graduation, the student will receive a special distinction on their transcript, a designation at Graduation with an Honors Cord (blue), front row placement during Commencement (permitting CDC guidelines), a letter from President of SLCC for Graduation, a letter of recommendation from CES Coordinator if requested, an e-Portfolio with civic engagement material, a reference for future employment/housing, and being able to network and be referred to institutions of higher education, including:

The Dream Center at Salt Lake Community College works holistically with undocumented students and mixed-status families from college access to graduation and or transfer.

The Dream Center:

Engages in specialized college outreach and access strategies.
Provides individualized advising and scholarship support for current and future undocumented students at SLCC.

The Engaged Learning Office at Salt Lake Community College supports students and faculty both inside the classroom and out through high-impact practices such as Community-Engaged Learning, Study Abroad, and Domestic Study. These high-impact practices promote deeper learning and also lead to higher student retention rates (Association of American Colleges & Universities, 2008). Make learning relevant while also gaining applicable college credits. Engage in experiential education that addresses pressing community and global issues, gain valuable career experience, network with diverse others, and participate in problem-based learning. The Salt Lake Community College Honors Program is a diverse, inclusive community of engaged students, faculty, and staff dedicated to a transformative education in which we all learn from each other. It is open to students of any major whose educational goals include transfer to a 4-year college or university. The Honors Program community is designed to increase opportunities for underserved students and students with the as-yet-untapped potential to succeed in their education by leveraging high-impact practices (HIPs), reflective ePortfolios, Honors courses, small cohorts, and enrichment experiences.

Welcome to the Queer Employee Association at SLCC! This organization welcomes students, staff, faculty, and administrators who identify as, and are allied with, our Queer college community.

Our mission is to manage Salt Lake Community College's recyclable waste, emphasizing the importance of recycling over solid waste disposal. We will accomplish this mission by utilizing recycling tools as teaching instruments to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment which is efficient and cost effective. Our staff will be helpful and courteous in their endeavors, as we expand and define our knowledge of the growing impact the college has on the community and the world. The purpose of the TRIO Programs at Salt Lake Community College is to provide support for low-income and first-generation college students to access, graduate, and attain their educational, career, and personal goals in preparation for their contribution to a global workforce.
